From v1 to v2

iBegin Source Update

On November 7, 2007, iBegin Source was updated to a newer category format, new download format, and to support Canadian data.

New Categories

The categories were manually pored over, and quite a few were merged and/or renamed. Important links:

Download Format

The format of the data was tweaked slightly:

  • Delimter changed from | (pipe) to , (comma)
  • Encapsulation changed from none to " (double quotes)
  • Two extra fields added after the 'Category' field is a further category 2 and category 3 field

A sample entry (OLD FORMAT):

In the NEW FORMAT:

"1","12th & L Bed & Breakfast","1001 W 12th Ave","Anchorage","99501","9072761225","0","Bed & Breakfast Accommodations","","","http://www.anchorage-lodging.com","","1169576311","1169576311","61.210458","-149.901819","12th Ave W & L St"
You can see that each value is encapsulated with " (double quotes), separated by , (comma), and that there are two extra fields after 'Bed & Breakfast Accommodations'.
